LG has just announced a new phone dubbed LG Style3 for the Japanese market. It is positioned in the mid-range segment with a two-year-old flagship chipset instead of a mid-range one like many people would expect. The chipset I have just mentioned is the Snapdragon 845 SoC, which is also used on the POCO F1.
LG Style3: Price & Availability
The new LG Style3 will be up for sales in Japan in June in two color variants, Mirror Black and Aurora White. The LG Style3 price is JPY 38,160, which is equivalent to around Rs. 26,800.

LG Style3: Specifications & Features
Specifically, the LG Style3 has an OLED panel with Quad-HD + resolution, that means it offers even higher resolution than LG’s flagship LG V60 ThinQ, which was launched not long ago. The display size of the handset is 6.1 inches and LG decides to use the outdated wide notch design to house an 8MP camera on the front for selfies and video calls.
Around the back, you can see the familiar design language that LG has used on many of its recent smartphones. The camera setup includes a 48MP main camera and a 5MP depth sensor, placed horizontally along with a flash. There is also a fingerprint reader in the center for security, right above the name of the distributor (Docomo). It is quite confusing as LG chooses to release a smartphone in the mid-range segment with just two rear cameras and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor considering its 26,800 price tag.

As for hardware configuration, LG chooses the two-year-old Snapdragon 845 chipset, which is the flagship chip of Qualcomm in 2018. The handset comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage, with microSD card support for further expanding the phone’s storage. The Style3 has a 3500mAh battery under the hood, which is quite low for a mid-range device. The fast charging technology is not mentioned here, but there should be one. In terms of software, the device is pre-installed with Android 10 out of the box. Finally, the device is waterproof with IP68 and IPX5 ratings.
