LG G9 Renders Show Quad Rear Cameras & In-Display Fingerprint Sensor

Instead of discontinuing the LG G series, it seems like LG will still launch a new addition to the series, suggested by new renders of the LG G9.

Previously, there was information that, after LG G8 ThinQ, LG will discontinue its flagship G-series. But it appears that the report is inaccurate because recently, the famous leaker @OnLeaks has shared several CAD-based render images of LG G9.

The images show that LG G9 looks quite similar to the G8X ThinQ, which was launched in India not too long ago. But this time, the number of sensors in the rear camera setup is doubled.

You can see on the renders that the LG G9 will carry a quad-camera lens at the back and the sensors will be placed horizontally, similar to camera placement of the LG G8 ThinQ and V50 ThinQ. It is also worth noting that there is no fingerprint sensor at the back of this phone, so the G9 might be the first phone from the brand to come with an under-display fingerprint sensor.
The current trend is a 2.5D or 3D curved screen, but it seems like LG will still stick with a flat display on its next flagship. The exact size of the display has not been confirmed, but sources suggest that the device will have screens from 6.7 to 6.9 inches with very thin bezels.

The front of the phone has a single selfie camera, which is located in the waterdrop notch. It seems that the brand will not jump in the trend of punch-hole screens, but they may have ditched the hand gestures and palm recognification features on the G8 ThinQ.
Interestingly, the handset will still have a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is quite surprising because most flagships in 2019 and 2020 don’t have it anymore. In addition, it seems that the device has an additional Android virtual assistant button on its e right side.
The G9's dimensions are 169.4 x 77.6 x 8.8mm, 9.4 mm thick if the camera's hump is included. The G8 was unveiled at the MWC 2019, so the LG G9 is likely to be launched at MWC 2020 in late February.
