LG G8X ThinQ is another phone that has just been announced at the IFA 2019 event in Germany. The handset comes with a Snapdragon 855 SoC, a 6.4-inch OLED panel, and a dual-camera setup. Alongside the device, the company also introduced the updated Dual Screen accessory, which works as a second display of the G8X ThinQ. This new accessory comes with an additional monochrome screen on the outside, that gives information such as notifications, battery, time, date, and several other details.
LG G8X ThinQ: Price & Availability
The South Korean phone maker hasn’t revealed the phone’s price at the launch event. However, it did say that both the LG G8X ThinQ and its Dual Screen accessory will go on sale in Q4 this year.
LG G8X ThinQ: Specifications
The LG G8X ThinQ sports a 6.4-inch OLED display with Full-HD+ resolution and a small dewdrop notch on top. For biometric authentication, it is included with an in-display fingerprint reader. As mentioned, the handset is driven by a Snapdragon 855 SoC, coupled with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It also features a microSD card slot to expand its storage up to 1TB. While the previous version of the Dual Screen accessory can be connected with Pogo Pins, users can now connect the accessory with a USB port on the phone.
On the imaging department, the handset only comes with a dual-camera setup at the back, which is a setback since its competitors already use triple or quad rear cameras on its premium smartphones. The setup includes a 12MP main sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a 13MP super-wide camera with a 136-degree field of view. On the front, there is a 32MP selfie camera. Under the hood, a 4,000 mAh battery is included to power the phone and can be refilled with Quick Charge 3.0 technology. Just like recent LG premium phones, the LG G8X ThinQ also has two speakers, and the 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC for better audio quality. Other features include IP68 certification, Android 9 Pie, and HDR10 support.
As for the Dual Screen accessory, it has the same 6.4 inches in size with no notch. Outside, there is a 2.1-inch monochrome Cover screen.
