Indian smartphone company Lava has just released a new smartphone called Lava Z61 Pro. The handset comes at a very affordable price and features acceptable hardware configuration, including a 5.45-inch display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage (expandable up to 128GB), and more. The most notable thing about this smartphone is that it is a part of the “Made in India” program. Lava has also just revealed its plans to move its production facilities from China to India along with an R&D center.

Lava Z61 Pro: Price in India & Availability
This handset will go on sales for a price of Rs. 5,774 in two color variants, Amber Red and Midnight Blue. You can purchase it via both offline and online channels, including Amazon and Flipkart.
Lava Z61 Pro: Specifications & Features
The handset features a 5.45-inch display with HD+ resolution (1,440 x 720p) resolution and an aspect ratio of 18:9. It is covered with 2.5D glass and has a thick bezel at the top, which houses a 5MP camera for selfies and video calls. There is also a sizeable chin at the bottom, but it is reasonable for such an affordable smartphone. Around the back, there is only a single 8MP camera that supports HDR, portrait mode, and night mode.

Under the hood, you can find a 1.6GHz octa-core chipset powering the phone along with 2GB of RAM. The phone also has 16GB storage, but you can further expand its storage using a microSD card (up to 12GB). The handset runs on Android, but the exact version has yet been revealed by the company. For security, there isn’t any fingerprint sensor, but you can unlock the front using Face Unlock feature with the front camera. The whole thing is powered by a 3,100mAh battery that can be refilled via a micro-USB port. Other features of the phone include a headphone jack, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi b/g/n, 4G VoLTE, and dual-SIM support.
