Vivo’s sub-brand iQOO just announced a new smartphone in China dubbed iQOO Neo 855. You can tell by the name that it is an upgraded model of the iQOO Neo with a Snapdragon 855 SoC, instead of the Snapdragon 845 on the original version. Design-wise, the two versions are not different from each other. However, it is available in a new color variant - Icelandic Aurora. Moreover, the device is packed with UFS 3.0 storage, which contributes to the impressive 477,016 points in the AnTuTu benchmark test. It also supports dual-WiFi acceleration tech, which is said to enhance the internet connection during web browsing or gaming sessions. Moreover, the tech is claimed to help reduce the latency by up to 90%.
iQOO Neo 855: Availability & Price
The iQOO Neo 855’s price in China is CNY 1,998 (roughly 20,000) for the variant with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of UFS 2.1 storage. For other memory configurations, they all come with UFS 3.0 storage and they are 6GB RAM / 128GB storage, 8GB RAM / 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM / 256GB storage. These three variants are offered at CNY 2,298 (roughly 23,000), CNY 2,498 (roughly 25,000), and CNY 2,698 (roughly 27,100), respectively. Interested users in China can start pre-ordering now or they can wait until 31 October to buy the phone straight out. It is available in Neo Purple, Carbon Black, and Icelandic Aurora.
iQOO Neo 855: Specs & Features
The iQOO Neo 855 boasts a 6.38” AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution, HDR10 support, and DC Dimming. As mentioned, instead of Snapdragon 845, this device is packed with a Snapdragon 855 chipset, aided by up to 8GB RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage. Being a Vivo smartphone, it obviously ships with FuntouchOS skin out of the box, which is based on Android 9 Pie. Super-liquid cooling system and MultiTurbo 2.0 are available on the device for the purpose of reducing the surface temp by up to 3° and CPU temp by up to 10°.
For photography, it rocks a triple camera system on the rear, comprising of a 12MP main sensor, a 2MP depth-sensing snapper, and an 8MP ultra-wide camera with 120° FOV. For selfies, there is a 16MP camera on the front that is housed in the dewdrop notch. For security, users can use a an on-screen fingerprint reader to protect their phones. Under the hood, there is a 4,500 mAh battery fueling the phone and can be refilled with fast charging solution (up to 33W).
