Over the past few years, smartphone prices have been going up over Rs 71,865, but IHS Market says that Apple’s iPhone XR, the more affordable device of the iPhone X lineup, beat all the others in terms of shipments in 2019’s first half. In the Q1 and Q2 of 2019, Apple shipped almost 30 million iPhone XR devices, as reported on Thursday by the market analysts.
With the price of Rs 53,827, the XR is not truly cheap, but it certainly has the lowest price in Apple’s 2018 iPhone lineup. According to IHS Market, while Apple shipped 13.6 million units of this phone in the first quarter, it shipped 13.3 million phones in the second quarter, registering a total of 26.9 million units just in the first six months this year. This number is twice as high as that of the Galaxy A10 from Samsung, which occupies the second place on HIS Market’s list.
Research and analysis director Jusy Hong, said:
The iPhone 8 along with the iPhone XS Max was also among the best-selling smartphones in 2019’s first half. The Samsung Galaxy A10 and Galaxy A50, with priced at less than Rs 28,746, were at the second and third places, shipping 13.4 and 12 million devices, respectively. Samsung’s Galaxy S10 smartphones didn’t make it to this list.
