Chinese phone maker Huawei has long been embracing the notch design on its upcoming phones, including flagship devices like the Huawei Mate 20 series and Huawei P30 series. However, if a new set of renders are to be believed, it might follow other brands and jump to the pop-up camera train.
As per the renders posted by popular leakster Evan Blass, this phone will launch under the name Huawei P Smart Z and it will not have any notch on its display with a two-tone finish on its rear panel similar to the Google Pixel.

A Dutch blog ‘MobielKopen’ also leaked a new photo of the alleged P Smart Z. The image also showed a phone with the pop-up selfie camera design. However, Glass is more accurate when it comes to phone leaks. As per the photo, you can easily see a pop-up camera, a dual rear camera setup, and a fingerprint scanner mounted on the rear. The picture also shows that the phone might come with three color variants, including Green, Black, and Blue. From the photo alone, we can’t really tell whether Huawei will use metal-glass construction or polycarbonate on this upcoming handset.

Moving to the specs, it is expected to come with a 6.59-inch IPS panel, measure 163.5x77.3x8.9 mm and weigh 197 grams. Powering the phone will likely be a Kirin 710 chipset clubbed with 4GB RAM / 64GB of storage which can be expanded up to 512GB. There will be a 16MP camera on both the front and back of the handset. This upcoming phone will most likely ship with Android 9 Pie-based EMUI 9 and a 4,000mAh battery.
The exact release date of the phone remains unknown, but it should be launched in the budget segment for a price of around Rs. 16,000.
