Huawei is expected to release its Huawei P40 series in the first quarter of this year and we have already seen the renders of the Huawei P40 and P40 Pro, showing their color variants and rear design. In addition, a recent report suggested that the series will include a third offering called P40 Pro PE. Its render revealed a penta camera lens setup at its back. Meanwhile, the P40 and P40 Pro will feature a punch-hole display with dual selfie cameras and a rectangular camera module on the rear. Now, live images of the Huawei P40 Pro have just been posted on Weibo, thanks to Digital Chat, who is pretty well-known on Chinese social media as a leaker.
According to the render, the Huawei P40 Pro will have a pill-shaped cut-out on the upper left corner to house two selfie shooters. Even though the phone is put in a case, we can still clearly see that it sports a curved display. Sadly, we can’t really see the back design of the phone as it is completely blocked by the case. As mentioned, previous leaks revealed that the handset would be equipped with Leica-branded quad cameras at the back while its sibling P40 could feature a triple rear camera cluster and a flat screen. Both of them are tipped to come in Blush Gold, Deep Sea Blue, Ice White, and Black.
Huawei P40 & Huawei P40 Pro: Expected Specifications
We expect to see Huawei’s Kirin 990 5G chipset on all three models, with support for 5G connectivity. They could also pack up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. On the front, they might all sport an AMOLED panel alongside an under-display fingerprint reader for biometric security. In terms of software, all three should ship with Android 10 out of the box with EMUI 10 on top. However, unless the situation is somehow changed, all Huawei smartphones will not have Google services and apps.
For photography, we have only heard that the P40 will likely feature a ToF 3D sensor and an ultra-wide-angle shooter. Meanwhile, the P40 Pro might feature a periscope lens with 10x optical zoom.
