Huawei P40 series: Specifications & Features
New design
Huawei is always changing in every new generation of Huawei P series, and this new Huawei P40 series is no exception. The P40 smartphones have a new design on both the front and the back. In particular, the front of the P40 now switches to a punch-hole design with a dual selfie camera cluster very similar to the Galaxy S10+; while the back of the phones is highlighted by a square camera cluster, following the trend of many current flagships like iPhone 11 and Galaxy S20 series.

Top-notch cameras
The P series is a model that Huawei focused on photography capability. This year, this continues to be the strength of the P40 series. All three P40 models are equipped with a 50MP f / 1.9 OIS main camera with 1 / 1.28 "sensor size, a lot bigger than rivals like the iPhone 11 Pro and the Galaxy S20 Ultra. The second unit is an ultra-wide-angle camera with 16MP resolution (P40) or 40MP (P40 Pro and P40 Pro+).

However, the most notable feature of the P40 series is its zoom capability. All three models of P40 have two different zoom lenses, combining a normal telephoto lens and a periscope lens. In particular, the most advanced model is the P40 Pro+ that is capable of up to 10X optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom. This is on par with the S20 Ultra, but Huawei says the zoom quality of the P40 Pro+ is better than its Samsung counterpart.

Powerful hardware, fast charging, 5G connectivity
The Huawei P40 smartphones are equipped with Huawei's in-house Kirin 990 chip, which first appeared on the Mate 30 launched last year. The Huawei P40 Pro and P40 Pro+ are also Huawei's first models with a high-frequency (90Hz) OLED screens. The P40 version usually does not support this feature. As for the P40 Pro +, Huawei also equips the device with 40W wireless fast charging technology, which is among the fastest available today. The P40 Pro and P40 Pro + have a 4l200mAh battery capacity while the P40 packs a 3,800 mAh battery with no wireless charging support.

Because of the US ban, all three models of P40 will not be integrated with Google services, meaning users will not be able to use services such as Gmail, Google Maps, Youtube and especially the Play Store.
Huawei will replace Google services with its own service, called Huawei Mobile Services. Users will install the apps on Huawei's AppGallery store.
