Huawei has been known for naming its smartphones under different names in different markets. It is actually quite common for Chinese phone makers to do so and Vivo has also been doing that quite a lot. A new source, which is popular for Huawei-related news suggested that the forthcoming Huawei P40 Lite is actually a familiar smartphone that has already made its debut.
Twitter user @RODENT950 revealed on his tweet that the Huawei P40 Lite will be just a rebranded model of the Huawei Nova 6 SE that was released last week.
In his tweet, he also posted a press render of the device, which reveals most of its front and rear panels. The phone in the render is in black, which is a color variant of the Nova 6 SE. Moreover, it also has the same quad rear camera cluster housed in a square module and a punch hole placed at the top left corner of the display. The Huawei P40 Lite should carry the same specifications as the Nova 6 SE, but the company might offer a few more memory configurations for the P40 Lite.
The handset is speculated to make its debut before the Huawei P40 and P40 Pro. However, it might come with no Google Services since Huawei would still be banned if there was nothing chance from the US side.
Huawei Nova 6 SE: Specifications
The phone sports a 6.4-inch LCD panel that offers Full-HD+ resolution. The 16MP selfie camera is housed in the small cut-out on the front. At the back, its quad-camera cluster is housed in a square module, and it includes a 48MP main sensor, a 2MP macro lens, a 2MP depth-sensing camera, and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle shooter.
Under the hood, it is driven by a mid-range Kirin 810 SoC, aided by 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The handset gets fuel from a beefy 4,200 mAh cell that supports up to 40W fast charging solution. Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a USB-C port, a headphone jack, and two SIM slots. Finally, it comes with Android 10 pre-loaded with EMUI on top.
