Huawei P30 Series New Leak: Impressive Cameras, Large Displays, Massive RAM

New leaks regarding the Huawei P30 series suggest that they will come with impressive camera setups, large OLED displays and massive amount of RAMs.

With the release date of the Huawei P30 and Huawei P30 Pro getting closer, a fresh report was just published, revealing some information regarding those two handsets. Although, it is not official so you should take them with a grain of salt.

Both handsets are reportedly coming with an OLED display

Starting with the P30 Pro, the handset is tipped to sport an OLED panel similar to its predecessor, Huawei P20. However, the P30 Pro’s display panel will come with curved edges on both sides. In addition, the report also suggests that it will pack a big 6.5-inch screen that will put the Huawei handset on par with the iPhone XS Max.

Meanwhile, the Huawei will reportedly come with an OLED panel as well, and it is the first time Huawei uses the OLED display for the series. Nevertheless, the Huawei P30 will most likely not to have curved edges like on the P30 Pro. The phone is also said to come with a slightly smaller 6.1-inch display.

In terms of display size, the Huawei P30’s expected display is not bigger than that of its predecessor, Huawei P20, while the Huawei P30 Pro’s display size is pretty much the same as the size of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro’s display. The slimmer bottom and top bezels are the main reasons why these phones can have these dimensions. However, the Chinese phone maker is tipped to shift to water-drop notches on its next flagship phones, and it is in line with previous renders. This is also the reason why Huawei has reportedly chosen not to use its Facial recognition tech that it already introduced on the Huawei Mate 20 Pro.

Expected camera setups on the P30 and P30 Pro

On the back, the new report tips that the Chinese company will opt for the same camera setup of its Mate 20 Pro to the P30 Pro. If this information is to be believed, the P30 Pro will likely to sport a 40MP main camera, a 20MP secondary wide-angle camera, and an 8MP third telephoto camera with support for 3x optical zoom. The rear camera setup is accompanied by a dual-tone LED flash as well as laser autofocus. With this setup, the P30 Pro can provide excellent camera quality, in both daylight and low-light conditions.

For the Huawei P30 Pro, this report does not specifically reveals the camera setup on the phone. However, other leaks said that the P30 Pro might come with a quad rear camera setup. There should still be a telephoto and wide-angle cameras while Huawei might replace the main camera with a 38MP Sony sensor which hasn’t been announced yet. It is said to come with significant improvements to the camera capabilities in low-light conditions, thus, further consolidating the position of Huawei in the mobile industry.

The last camera on the setup is tipped to be a Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor. If it is true, this 3D sensor can be a great help for the phone to provide better bokeh photos and it might also be pretty useful for potential implementations of AR content.

Expected RAM and processor

Lastly, the new report also suggests that the two devices will be powered by the Huawei-made’s Kirin 980 SoC built on the 7nm processor. It is said to be very insignificantly slower than the Qualcomm’s flagship, Snapdragon 855 SoC and Apple’s A12 Bionic.

The SoC will reportedly be coupled with 8GB RAM in the P30 and a massive 12GB RAM in the P30 Pro. The storage options of the two are still unknown but both handsets are expected to run the latest Android 9.0 Pie with EMUI 9.1 on top.

The Huawei P30 phones are said to officially unveil in March, similar to the P20 series last year. However, there is still a possibility that these handsets will be introduced at the MWC event as Huawei already announced an MWC event.
