Huawei recently officially launched its latest high-end smartphone series, the Huawei P30 series. Besides cameras, fast charging, specifications or design, another feature of the P30 series, which Huawei advertises, is the electronic key.
Specifically, Huawei's latest smartphone can replace the role of car keys. According to Huawei's video, the process of unlocking the car by phone is quite simple and easy to use. Users just need to place the back panel of the handset into the car door handle, and the car will immediately unlock.
However, when it comes to reality, things don't seem that easy. The video posted to the social networking site Twitter shows that opening a car with the Huawei P30 Pro will not be as easy as shown on the promo video from Huawei. After a series of attempts of applying the phone on the door handle left and right, rotating vertically, and even with someone’s help ... the Audi (seems to be the Audi A8) still didn’t unlock.
Despite many attempts, the door of the car still didn’t unlock
Currently, the feature of unlocking cars with Huawei smartphones is supported on 7 Audi cars. Huawei said it will expand this feature to many other automakers in the near future, of which the latest is BMW. Not only cars, but Huawei is also cherishing the dream of replacing home keys. In fact, Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business, said he is using smartphones as a key to his home and office.
But before planning to expand in the future, perhaps Huawei needs to focus on improving the stability on this particular feature line to avoid such situations like this from happening again.
