Huawei P30 Lite & Huawei P30 Pro Launched In India: Specifications & Prices

Huawei finally launched the Huawei P30 Lite and the Huawei P30 Pro in the Indian market.

After launching the latest Huawei P30 series globally, Huawei now brings its flagship series to the Indian market except for the Huawei P30. Initially, the company only offers the Huawei P30 Lite and Huawei P30 Pro in the country. The series was just unveiled at an event today. To recall, the P30 Pro is a premium offering with a quad camera setup, 7nm Kirin 980 SoC, and a curved AMOLED panel along with an on-screen fingerprint scanner and the company’s new Acoustic tech to replace the earpiece. As for the P30 Lite, it is a toned-down model of the phone with a mid-range processor and a triple rear camera.

The Huawei P30 Lite is priced at Rs. 19,990 for the option with 4GB of RAM/128GB of storage and Rs. 22,990 for the variant with 6GB RAM/128GB storage. Similar to the P30 Pro, Huawei also offers the handset via Amazon India for Prime users from 25 April, regular buyers from 26 April, and Croma stores from 26 April in Peacock Blue and Midnight Black color options. As for launch offers, buyers who are Jio customers can get Rs. 2,200 benefits on Rs. 198 or Rs. 299 recharges for both of the handsets.

On the other hand, the top-end Huawei P30 Pro is priced at Rs. 71,990 for the option with 8GB of RAM/256GB of storage. It is offered in two color variants which are Breathing Crystal and Aurora and will be up for sale in the market via Amazon India from 15 April for Amazon.in’s Prime members only. Regular buyers will have to wait until 16 April to buy the handset. They can also buy the phone via Croma stores from 19 April. The company also offers users to buy the Huawei Watch GT, which is priced at Rs. 15,990, for only Rs. 2,000 when purchasing with the P30 Pro.

The Lite model packs a Huawei-made Kirin 710 SoC, coupled with 6GB RAM/128GB of storage which is expandable via a microSD slot. Up front, it sports a 6.15-inch FHD+ 2.5D curved LCD panel with a 2,312 x 1,080p resolution and a water-drop notch on top.

On the imaging front, the phone comes with a triple camera setup, comprising of a 24MP f/1.8 primary sensor, an 8MP secondary camera with a 120-degree ultra-wide angle lens, and a 2MP third camera for depth sensing. Up front, there is a 32MP selfie camera with an aperture of f/2.0. The cameras are supported by the company’s AI algorithm, a feature similar to the Google Lens that can also identify objects, and AR stickers as well.

Other notable features include image recording feature, GPU Turbo 2 for better gaming performance, and a fingerprint scanner mounted on the rear. Powering the phone is a decent 3,340mAh cell with support for fast charging and a USB-C port.

Moving to the P30 Pro, it boasts a quad Leica-branded camera setup, including a 40MP SuperSpectrum sensor with an aperture of f/1.2, a 20MP ultra-wide angle lens with an f/2.2 aperture, an 8MP telephoto camera, and a 3D ToF camera. Up front, it comes with a 32MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture. Its cameras are supported by AI, OIS, AIS, and machine learning to improve photo quality. It is touted to have 5X optical zoom, 10X hybrid zoom, and even 50X digital zoom.

Up front, it sports a 6.47-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with a water-drop notch on top. As mentioned, the phone doesn’t have an earpiece, but it will be replaced by the company’s Acoustic tech. Under the hood, it is powered by a Kirin 980 SoC, paired with up to 8GB RAM, up to 512GB storage, and dual NPUs. As for software, the phone ships with the latest Android 9.0 Pie with Huawei’s EMUI 9 on top and is powered by a large 4,200mAh cell with support for 40W SuperCharge, reverse wireless, and 15W wireless charging.
