It seems Huawei will still use the Android OS on its upcoming smartphones despite the US ban. The latest smartphone from the firm seems to be the Huawei Nova 5T, which was recently listed on Android Enterprise Solutions Directory. The handset is listed alongside several devices in the directory. However, while a few specs are revealed, we still don’t know whether the brand will announce the Huawei Nova 5T. It will come as the fifth addition to the Huawei Nova 5 series, which already includes Huawei Nova 5i, Nova 5, Nova 5i Pro, and Nova 5 Pro.
Being a Huawei smartphone, the Huawei Nova 5T is expected to ship with a new-generation Kirin chipset. Other specs of the phone listed on the website include 8GB oF RAM, 128GB or 256GB of internal storage, 5.5-inch screen, Android 9 Pie, zero-touch support, fingerprint scanner, and NFC.
The product photo in the listing also reveals that the upcoming phone will feature a hole-punch display, slightly thick bezels, and a little bit thicker chin. Since the photo only shows the phone’s front design, we can’t really say whether Huawei will go for an in-display or a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. As for the display, it will have FHD+ resolution, which is quite common these days. There are no details about its rear camera system, but we believe that it should feature a triple camera setup.
These are all details we could gather from the listing. However, the handset is expected to launch at the “We Are Nova Fashion Showcase” event that takes place on 25 August in Malaysia. It’s only three days left until its launch, so we will not have to wait for long to get the rest of the specs and its price as well as availability.
