Several renders of the Huawei Mate 30 lineup smartphones just appeared on September 16, now some live hands-on images of the phones in this series also surfaced online.
As you can see in the images, the displays of the vanilla Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro are different. Particularly, the Mate 30 features a flat screen with a narrower notch compared to the Mate 30 Pro’s waterfall display with a wider notch. The notch on the Pro variant seems to house three cameras. However, it is likely that there is a ToF sensor coupled with a light emitter and a sensor.
As per the images, the Pro variant will come in four color options including Cosmic Purple, Space Silver, Emerald Green, and Black. Both the regular and Pro variants will sport a circular quad rear camera setup that includes two 40MP sensors, an 8MP telephoto camera and a ToF sensor. Additionally, there is also a flash put on the left corner.
While the regular Mate 30 is packed with a 4,200mAh battery with the support for 27W wireless fast charging tech and 40W charging tech, the Pro variant sports a 4,500mAh battery. Both handsets will be powered by a Kirin 990 chipset produced in the 7nm process. In terms of software, the phones will run EMUI 10 based on Android AOSP at launch without Google apps and services.
Furthermore, a brief unboxing video appeared online as well, offering a clear look of the Pro variant’s sides and its red-accented power button.
For further information, Huawei recently announced the launch of a special edition of its Mate 30 series called Huawei Mate 30 Porsche Design. Accordingly, instead of glass, the phone will have a leather finish, offering a more premium feel of the phone. Similar to the Pro variant, the phone will skip physical volume button and will come with a touch-sensitive slider. In addition, RAM and internal storage are expected to be the top-notch on this version.
