Yu Chendong or Richard Yu, Huawei CEO, announced that the company has shipped over 10 million Huawei Mate 20 smartphones on Weibo. It takes only 5 months for this Huawei flagship to achieve this milestone since its first launch in last November. However, Huawei did not clearly state whether the Huawei Mate 20 series have the high-end mid-range smartphone, Mate 20 Lite released in September or not.

It matches the P20 series’ achievement, which also exceeded 10 million smartphones sold in only 5 months. Both of which win their predecessor – Huawei Mate 10 smartphones, which reached this figure in 10 months. Previously, the Huawei Mate 9 phones achieved the mark of 5 million shipments in only 4 months.

As for the specifications of the Huawei Mate 20 smartphones, the standard Mate 20 is powered by the Kirin 980 SoC. It comes with a triple rear camera setup with the 3x optical zoom capacity. The handset sports a 6.53-inch Full HD+ OLED display. Additionally, the Huawei Mate 20 has a standard fingerprint rear scanner, which is different from the in-display fingerprint scanner on the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. Powering the smartphone is a large battery with a capacity of 4,000mAh with fast charging support via USB-C port. Meanwhile, the Pro variant also comes with Kirin 980 chipset. The device sports a 6.39-inch QHD+ display with a big notch. This Huawei Mate 20 Pro comes with a bit bigger 4,200mAh battery over the Mate 20, paired with 15W fast wireless charging solution and Huawei SuperCharge 40W fast charging technology.

For further information, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro has been recently honoured with the “Best Smartphone” title at the 2019 GLOMO awards at the Mobile World Congress taking place last month.
Additionally, Huawei CEO also made a promise to have more breakthroughs this year and is waiting for sharing “the joy brought by scientific and technological progress”. It is known that this Chinese tech giant has recently released its first foldable phone with 5G support, the Huawei Mate X. And it was also named in the “Best New Connected Mobile Device” category at 2019 GLOMO awards.
