Earlier in the month, phone maker HTC is said to plan to revive its Wildfire series, with a total of four models on the way. They were tipped to be called Wildfire E, Wildfire E1, Wildfire E Plus, and Wildfire. Now, another model in the series called HTC Wildfire X has just been spotted on Google Play Console along with its key specs and design. Considering the key specs, we believe that the handset should be launched in the budget segment. The photo shows that the phone will be a wide handset with a rather chunky design as well as thick bezels on both the top and bottom of the display.

As per the listing on Google Play Console, the upcoming HTC Wildfire X will pack 4GB of RAM, an HD+ display with 1,520 x 720p resolution. Powering the phone will be an Helio P22 octa-core processor, paired with PowerVR GE8320 GPU. Aside from that, it is listed to ship with Android 9.0 Pie. In terms of design, the photo only shows the front design of the phone, which includes a cutout for the front camera, an earpiece, and a sensor array above the screen. Moreover, its bezels on the sides are narrower than those on the top and bottom. However, they are still significantly thicker than what we have been seeing on budget smartphones these days. On the right spine, there are a volume rocker and power button, while there is nothing in the left side.

The listing doesn’t reveal the exact launch date of the HTC Wildfire X, and HTC also hasn’t mentioned anything about that. However, since it’s already listed on Google Play Console, we expect it to pass through the major certification websites in the upcoming weeks.
Going by previous leaks, the upcoming HTC Wildfire X might be positioned below the HTC Wildfire smartphone, which is said to come with an Helio P23 SoC. Aside from that, the brand also trademarked other names like Wildfire E2, E2 Plus; Wildfire E3, E3 Plus; Wildfire E4, E4 Plus.
