In 2018, the Huawei’s sub-brand launched Honor 8X in India. The next X series smartphone will be Honor 9X and Honor 9X Pro handsets. These two devices are equipped with 6.59-inch IPS LCD screen with full HD+ resolution and both have notch-less design thanks to the pop-up camera design. They both contain HiSilicon Kirin 810 SOC (7 nm). While the Honor 9X is available in 4GB RAM + 64 GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, the Honor 9X Pro has up to 256 GB of internal memory and 8GB RAM. Security-wise, both phones feature a fingerprint sensor at the back.
On the imaging department, the two smartphones pack 16-MP pop-up selfie cameras. On the rear, the Honor 9X features 48-MP + 2-MP dual-camera setup, whereas the Honor 9X Pro features a 48-MP + 8-MP + 2-MP triple camera setup. The Honor 9X duo are equipped with 4,000mAh batteries. As for the price, the Honor 9X is retailed at 1,399 RMB (around Rs. 14,000), the base variant of 9X Pro is offered at 2,199 RMB (around Rs. 22,000).
Charles Peng added that the company plans to acquire 10% market share by 2020 since India is the second-largest market after China. Honor also aims to provide customers with the best after-sales services.
A trade ban was imposed on Huawei by the US in May, this ban prohibited US companies from collaborating with Huawei. At the beginning of this July, the US government lifted the ban with several restrictions. Peng stated that the company's smartphones won't be affected by the limited resources from the US caused by the recent ban.
