Honor 9X Pro, which was first launched in China in September 2020, will officially debut globally on 24 February as the brand’s first phone with Huawei Mobile Services. The brand has also confirmed via a poster that the handset will feature a Kirin 810 chipset and will be one of Huawei’s first smartphones without Google Mobile services, replaced by Huawei Mobile services. Apart from the Kirin 810 SoC, the handset will also come with a pop-up camera on the front and a vertically-stacked triple camera cluster on the rear.

In case you don’t know about Huawei Mobile Services, it is the brand’s in-house alternative to Google Mobile Services. It has been developed after the US trade ban, preventing Huawei from having business with Google. Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) offers a variety of apps & services such as Huawei AppGallery, Huawei Browser, Huawei Mobile Cloud, and more. It would be interesting to wait for responses from customers about the lack of Google services and apps.

Honor 9X Pro: Specifications
The Honor 9X Pro flaunts a 6.59-inch panel with FHD+ (1,080 x 2,340p) resolution, an aspect ratio of 19.5:9, and a 2.5D curved glass. Powering the phone is a Kirin 810 SoC, aided by up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage (expandable up to 512GB). In terms of software, its Chinese version runs on Android 9-based EMUI 9.1 out of the box, but this new model should ship with EMUI 10 instead. It is also tipped to get a liquid cooling system and GPU Turbo 2.0.

Camera-wise, we expect to see the same triple camera cluster on the rear, including a 48MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera with an LED flash, and a 2MP depth-sensing camera. For selfies, it gets a 16MP pop-up camera on the front. For biometric, users can choose between a fingerprint sensor mounted on the rear or Face Unlock feature. Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi, 4G VoLTE, USB-C port, GPS / GLONASS, and Bluetooth 5.0 LE. Finally, it packs a 4,000 mAh battery under the hood that supports the standard 10W charging solution.
Honor 9X Pro price: around Rs. 24,000 for the top-end model
