Honor 9X, 9X Pro Unveiled With Pop-Up Selfie Camera & Kirin 810 SoC

Honor finally announces the Honor 9X and Honor 9X Pro in China, both of which feature a pop-up selfie camera and a Kirin 810 SoC.

Huawei’s sub-brand Honor finally announces its Honor 9X & 9X Pro at a launch event in China. They are the first two phones from Honor to feature a pop-up selfie camera. The handsets are powered by Kirin 810 SoC, which is the latest Huawei’s chipset. Aside from that, the key highlights of the duo include a beefy battery and full-screen display.

Honor 9X & 9X Pro: Price
The regular Honor 9X is retailed at CNY 1,399 (around Rs. 14,000) for the base option with 4GB of RAM / 64GB of storage. You can get the higher variant with 6GB of RAM / 64GB of storage for CNY 1,599 (around Rs. 16,000). The top-end model with 8GB of RAM / 128GB of storage will be priced at CNY 1,899 (around Rs. 19,000). Interested fans can start purchasing the handset from 30 July in China or start pre-ordering it from today.
Moving to the more premium Honor 9X Pro, the base 8GB of RAM / 128GB of storage model will be retailed at CNY 2,199 (around Rs. 22,000), whereas the 8GB of RAM / 256GB of storage will set you back by CNY 2,399 (around Rs. 24,000). It is slated to be up for sale from 9 August in the country while users can begin pre-ordering it from 30 July.
Honor 9X & 9X Pro: Specifications
Both of the handsets come with a similar design at the back to the Honor 20 series. Their rear panels have a gradient finish and a glass layer on top. On the front, both handsets feature a bezel-less 6.59-inch OLED panel with FHD+ (2,340 x 1,080p) resolution.

Powering both the phones are the newly-launched Kirin 810 octa-core processor, paired with up to 8GB RAM, 256GB user-expandable storage, and liquid cooling system. They are also equipped with GPU Turbo 2.0 tech for better performance, especially during intense gaming sessions. Software-wise, they ship with Android 9.0 Pie with Huawei’s EMUI 10 on top. Fueling the entire setup is a beefy 4,000 mAh battery with support for 10W charging solution.
In terms of camera, the Honor 9X only has a dual camera setup, while there are three rear cameras on the Honor 9X Pro. The setup of the 9X includes a 48MP Sony IMX 586 sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor. Meanwhile, the 9X Pro has an additional 8MP wide-angle camera. On the front, both phones feature a 16MP selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture. Finally, they are equipped with a fingerprint reader at the back and Face Unlock feature for biometric security.
