Honor 20 Pro With Quad Cameras & Kirin 980 SoC Goes Official

Amidst the Android / Huawei mess, Huawei's sub-brand Honor announces the Honor 20 & 20 Pro with Kirin 980 SoC and quad cameras in London.

Amidst the Google Android - Huawei license row, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor still goes on and announces its Honor 20 series that includes the Honor 20 & Honor 20 Pro on an event in London. Both of the smartphones are launched in the same segment as the two newly-launched Asus ZenFone 6 and OnePlus 7. They are both powered by the latest Huawei’s Kirin 980 processor and feature a quad camera setup on the rear. Other highlights include the new ‘dynamic holographic design’, 32MP selfie camera that housed in the front cut-out.
Honor 20 Pro: Availability & Price
The price of the Honor 20 Pro is set at €599 (around Rs. 46,600) for the sole variant with 8GB of RAM + 256GB of internal storage. Its exact date to go on sale hasn’t been revealed yet. There will be two color variants for you to choose, Phantom Black and Phantom Blue. The company is also expected to announce the Honor 20 Pro Moschino Edition as well. As for the Indian launch date, Honor didn’t mention anything about it, but we expect it to make its debut in India soon.
Honor 20 Pro: Specs & Features
The handset comes with Dynamic Holographic glass back that comprising of some layers achieving a 3D depth effect when viewed from an angle. In addition, it also has a hole-punch display with a selfie camera housed on the cut-out that we have seen on the Galaxy S10 series.
On the front, there is a 6.26-inch FHD+ display with a 2,340 x 1,080p resolution. Powering the phone is a flagship-tier Kirin 980 SoC with GPU Turbo 3.0 to further enhance its performance. Paired with the Kirin processor is 8GB RAM + 256GB of internal storage and a card slot for storage expansion. A large 4,000 mAh battery under the hood will keep the phone up and running with support for 22.5W Super Charge tech.
In terms of camera, it features a quad camera setup on the rear. There are a 48MP main camera with Sony IMX 586 sensor and an f/1.4 lens which is the widest on a phone, a 16MP ultra-wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture, an 8MP camera with a telephoto lens + 3X optical zoom, and a 2MP macro camera with laser autofocus. The company also revealed that the device achieved a score of 111 points in the DxOMark camera test and it is on par with the OnePlus 7 Pro that launched not too long ago. Other camera features include dual 4-axis OIS, AI Ultra Clarity Mode, and AIS Super Night Mode. For selfies, Honor equips it with a 32MP selfie camera.
For security, it has a fingerprint scanner that is mounted in the Power button and it is touted to have very fast unlock time of under 0.3 seconds. You can also activate Google Assistant by pushing its Power Button for 1 second. Lastly, the phone also features a Virtual 9.1 Surround Sound system for better audio quality.
