Google Pixel 3 and Google Pixel 3 XL

The Google Pixel 3 and 3 XL are not much different from their predecessors in terms of design, except for the Pixel XL with its hideous looking notch.

However, these two Pixel devices do have upgrades in the hardware, including the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 845 processor, 4GB RAM and also 64/128GB storage. Those specs are quite standard for a flagship smartphone in 2018. Camera performance is the thing that set the two Pixel devices apart. There are a single rear 12.2MP camera with an f/1.8 aperture and a dual 8MP selfie camera setup with f/1.8 and f/2.2 respective apertures on both of the devices.

Despite having only a single rear camera, the Pixel 3 and 3 XL are still capable of delivering amazing shots with excellent Google’s camera software and features. Google also just rolled out a new feature called Night Sight on both of the new Pixel phones, allowing their cameras to excel even in low-light conditions. Users can also easily take ultra-wide selfies with the dual 8MP cameras on the front.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro

Earlier in 2018, the Chinese giant beat Apple to be the world’s second-biggest phone maker. While Huawei achieved that gold was mainly due to its vast market share in the mid-range and entry-level smartphone market, the Chinese phone maker has also shown that they are also capable of delivering the best flagship smartphones.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro 11

Released in October this year, the Huawei’s flagship Mate 20 Pro comes packed with many features. The handset is also an imaging powerhouse featuring Leica-branded triple camera setup on the rear. With a camera setup of 40MP + 20MP + 8MP sensors, users can take amazing shots with the Mate 20 Pro.

On the front, users can also take selfies with a 24MP sensor. Under the hood, there is a massive 4,200 mAh battery with support for wireless and fast charging. It also comes with a unique reserve wireless charging feature that can allow the Mate 20 Pro to turn into a wireless charging pad for other devices.

LG G7+ ThinQ

Despite somewhat falling behind in the smartphone industry, LG has still been delivering some great flagship smartphones for quite a while now. However, somehow their smartphones always end up getting beaten by rival Samsung’s flagships. And it is still the case for the LG G7+ ThinQ releasing in May 2018.

Being an underrated phone, the LG G7+ ThinQ comes packed with a Snapdragon 845 SoC, coupled with 6GB RAM/128GB storage. On the front, there is a 6.1-inch Quad-HD+ display with a 3,120 x 1,440 pixels resolution and a tall aspect ratio of 19.5:9.

And the thing, that set LG G7+ ThinQ in particular and recent LG flagships as a whole, is the headphone jack with a built-in Quad DAC which is capable of delivering much better audio quality. And the LG device also has a mono speaker that is probably the loudest that you may find in a smartphone.
