Google introduced the Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 at a launch event on Wednesday. Sadly, none of them will make their way to India. However, Google will still bring a Google Pixel smartphone this month and that is the Google Pixel 4a, which is the non-5G version released in August, not the newly-launched one. Back then, we already know that the phone is going to launch in India in October, but the exact date wasn’t revealed.
Now, Google has confirmed the Pixel 4a India launch will take place on October 17 via an answer to a user on Twitter. The phone will go on sales via Flipkart. Unfortunately, Google doesn’t reveal the Pixel 4a price in India, but it should be around the $349 (around Rs. 25,600) price tag in the US.
Google Pixel 4a: Specifications & Features
Google’s mid-range phone rocks a 5.8-inch OLED panel, with FHD+ resolution, a punch-hole at the top left corner, and a standard 60Hz refresh rate. Powering the phone is a Snapdragon 730G SoC, aided by 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. There is only one camera at the back of this phone, with 12MP resolution, OIS, and a single LED flash. Camera features include dual exposure controls, Live HDR+, Portrait Mode, Super Res Zoom, and Night Sight with astrophotography.
It comes with a small 3,140 mAh battery and 18W fast charging support. Other notable features are stereo speakers, headphone jack, and rear-mounted fingerprint reader. Finally, the device boots stock Android 10 and is guaranteed to get at least three major software upgrades.
