Last week, the design of the upcoming Galaxy S11 was leaked via CAD-based renders. Now, a new Samsung phone with SM-G986B model number just passed through Geekbench. That model number has been associated with the Galaxy S11 for a while. Therefore, there is a high chance the phone in the listing is the Galaxy S11. It reveals that the handset will come with an Exynos 9830 SoC, 12GB RAM, and the latest Android 10 pre-installed. The Exynos 9830 is the Exynos 990 SoC, which is a 7nm chipset with a 5G modem integrated that was announced several months back.
The listing also reveals that the chipset on the Galaxy S11 will pack eight cores with a 1.95Hz clock speed. As mentioned, the processor will be aided by a massive 12GB RAM, which should be the highest RAM model. As expected, the S11 will run on Android 10 out of the box, with OneUI 2.0 on top most likely. The Geekbench benchmark scores of the handset are 427 points in the single-core test and 2,326 points in the multi-core test. Those are quite low for a premium flagship device in 2020, and that is why we strongly advise you to take this news with a grain of salt.
Samsung Galaxy S11: Expected specifications
The Galaxy S11 is tipped to come with a curved Super AMOLED panel with 6.7 inches in size and a center-aligned hole-punch. Its display should carry a refresh rate of 120Hz and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint reader for security. Previously, it was also revealed to support 25W quick charging solution. For photography, it should carry five cameras at the back, one of which should be a new 108MP sensor. Other sensors on the setup are said to ship with features like 5x optical zoom, Deep Fusion-like tech, Single Take Photo, Night Hyperlapse, Director’s View, 8K video recording, and Vertical Panoramas.
The Galaxy S11 should be launched alongside the top-end Galaxy S11+ and the more affordable Galaxy S11e. While the former is said to come with a massive 6.9-inch display, the latter might flaunt a 6.3-inch panel. While the Galaxy S11+ might be only available in 5G version, the S11 and S11e could come in 4G & 5G options. All three phones are expected to launch on 18 February next year.
