The Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ have just been announced by Samsung at the Unpacked event. Leaving the Galaxy Note 10+ aside, we will take a look at the Galaxy Note 10 and see how it competes again the OnePlus 7 Pro, which is also called ‘flagship killer’. On paper, the two have quite a few similarities in both features and specifications. However, the OnePlus offering seems to have an edge in the display and price aspects. Let’s see whether the OnePlus 7 Pro can live up to its name as flagship killer or the Galaxy Note 10 once again proves that Samsung's Galaxy Note smartphones are a force to be reckoned with.

Galaxy Note 10 vs OnePlus 7 Pro: Price

The Galaxy Note 10 in India is confirmed to be Rs. 69,999 for the variant with 8GB RAM + 256GB of storage. In comparison, the base option of the OnePlus 7 Pro with 6GB of RAM + 128GB of storage costs Rs. 48,999. If you want to have the same variant with 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage, you need to pay Rs. 52,999, which is around Rs. 17,000 cheaper than the Note 10. Even its top-end option with 12GB of RAM + 256GB of storage will only set you back by Rs. 57,999.

You can clearly see that the OnePlus 7 Pro offers you more value for the price when it comes to RAM and storage. However, it is not the only aspect of a smartphone, so let’s see how Note 10 performs in other departments.

Galaxy Note 10 vs OnePlus 7 Pro : Specifications & Features

As mentioned, the Note 10 and OnePlus 7 Pro have similar specs. Both Samsung and OnePlus use premium glass and an aluminum frame on their flagships. Despite being a cheaper phone, the OnePlus offering stills give the Samsung counterpart a run for its money with its stunning look. Personally, I find the OnePlus 7 Pro to be better than Note 10 with a full-screen display and better gradient finishes as well. The Note 10 does look premium, but its top center punch hole might be a deal breaker to some users.

OnePlus smartphone has the edge in the appearance thanks to the frosted glass panel on the back

As for the display, the OnePlus 7 Pro again wins with its larger 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with Quad-HD+ resolution and refresh rate of 90Hz. Meanwhile, the Note 10 is equipped with a 6.3-inch Dynamic AMOLED screen with FHD+ resolution only. Both of their displays support HDR10+. However, the OnePlus device is easily the winner in the display department with higher resolution and refresh rate. On the performance aspect, the Indian version of Galaxy Note 10 will be powered by an Exynos 9825 SoC, while the OnePlus 7 Pro is driven by a Snapdragon 855 SoC.

Galaxy Note 10 vs OnePlus 7 Pro : Camera & Battery

Moving to the camera front, both the Note 10 and OnePlus 7 Pro feature a triple camera setup at the back. The former comes with a 12MP main sensor with dual aperture and OIS, a 16MP telephoto sensor with OIS as well, and a 16MP ultra-wide camera. Meanwhile, the latter packs a 48MP Sony IMX586 main sensor with OIS, an 8MP telephoto unit, and a 16MP ultra-wide camera. On the front, while the Note 10 is equipped with a 10MP selfie camera, its OnePlus counterpart comes with a 16MP pop-up selfie camera.

The OnePlus 7 Pro’s camera performance wasn’t as good as the Galaxy S10 smartphones, so we believe that it should be behind the Note 10 as well. However, we still need to wait and see how the phone performs in real-world condition.

Battery-wise, the Note 10 is fueled by a 3,500 mAh battery, which is relatively low for such a high-end flagship phone. As for the OnePlus 7 Pro, it is packed with a larger 4,000 mAh unit. The Samsung phone also supports a lower fast charging solution (25W) compared to the Warp Charge on the OnePlus 7 Pro (30W).
