Galaxy Note 10 Lite vs Galaxy S10 Lite: Questionable Decision By Samsung

There are many questions and concerns raised around two new Samsung Galaxy smartphones, Galaxy S10 Lite and Galaxy Note 10 Lite.

Just last week, Samsung launched a new Galaxy smartphone, the Galaxy S10 Lite and Galaxy Note 10 Lite. Following the tradition of the South Korean giant, the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note devices are classified as high-end flagships. However, that is not the case for the two newly launched Galaxy smartphones "Lite". Samsung has a reason to create them, but this decision is still confusing to a lot of people.

There are many questions to ask here. Such as: Why do both smartphones have completely different camera clusters?. Why the Galaxy S10 Lite is integrated with Super Steady OIS technology, the first launch is on a mid-range smartphone?. Why does the Note 10 Lite have an audio jack while the S10 Lite doesn’t? Why does Samsung launch the Galaxy Note 10 Lite when it already has the Galaxy A mid-range smartphone? You will find that the S10 Lite is very similar to the new Galaxy A71 aside from the more powerful Snapdragon 855 SoC.

The Galaxy S10 Lite and Note 10 Lite have quite a lot of similarities. Both have flat 6.7-inch AMOLED screens with a resolution of 2,400 x 1,800. Of course, they are not comparable to their high-end siblings, despite the Infinity-O design.

Both have Infinity-O screens with a hole in the center.

However, there are several differences between these two smartphones. The S10 Lite will be priced at €649 (around Rs. 52,000) while the Note 10 Lite’s price is €599 (around Rs. 48,000). With a price difference of only Rs. 4,000, all of us would expect the two smartphones to be on the same level. However, that couldn’t be further from the fact.

The Galaxy Note 10 Lite with an S-Pen, while the Galaxy S10 Lite doesn't. In addition, Note 10 Lite has a 3.5mm headphone jack, while Galaxy S10 Lite does not. Meanwhile, it is the exact opposite for the Galaxy S10 and Note 10 (the S10 has a 3.5mm jack while the Note 10 doesn't).

The cameras of the Galaxy S10 Lite and Note 10 Lite also make us confused. Both are equipped with triple cameras on the back, located in a large square and rectangular module, completely different from the Galaxy S10 or Note 10.

The Galaxy S10 Lite camera cluster is really interesting. With a 48MP main sensor with Super Steady OIS stabilization, completely different from Super Steady Video that Samsung has just launched on Note 10. It is the first time Samsung has announced it, but I don't know why it was announced on a smartphone like the S10 Lite.

Besides, the Galaxy S10 Lite is also equipped with a 5MP macro camera. And this macro camera is really interesting, it helps you take very impressive photos that were previously impossible.

Meanwhile, Galaxy Note 10 Lite has a main camera, a wide-angle camera, and a telephoto camera. Quite conventional, nothing special, not to mention the lack of the new Super Steady OIS technology.

The S10 Lite and Note 10 Lite have the same front panel, from design to specs.

Finally, it is the difference in the processor. The Note 10 Lite is powered by Samsung's Exynos 9810 chipset, while the S10 Lite is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855 chipset. That may suggest that Samsung will not sell the Note 10 Lite in the US market.

And what makes many people most confusing is that Samsung uses its premium brand on non-premium smartphones. With the Note 10 Lite, the answer may be simply because this smartphone comes with an S-Pen. As for the S10 Lite, it is possible that Samsung thinks that the Snapdragon 855 processor deserves to be ranked close to other Galaxy S10 smartphones.

The Note 10 Lite is positioned in the Mark line probably because of the S Pen.

Regardless of the reason, Samsung is making it difficult for users to decide which smartphone to buy. The Galaxy S10 Lite and Note 10 Lite have a lot of differences and are also easily confused. But perhaps users should only focus on the difference between the S-pen and the price, to decide which smartphone to choose for themselves. The S10 Lite has just been teased on a dedicated page on Flipkart, which suggests that Samsung India will bring the phone to the country soon.
