Earlier in the year, South Korean giant Samsung unveiled the Galaxy M series and added three smartphones to the series, dubbed Galaxy M10, M20, and M30 in the Indian market. Now, the company is looking to launch another addition in the series called Galaxy M40. It is expected to come out in India on 11 June. A YouTuber Technical Guruji just revealed some details regarding the upcoming Galaxy M40’s features and design.
The hands-on video by Technical Guruji gives us a good look of the Galaxy M40. It is shown to feature a hole-punch display on the front which Samsung calls Infinity-O display and has already been present in some offerings in the Galaxy A and Galaxy S series. On the back, it will come with a vertically-stacked triple camera setup & a fingerprint scanner.
The YouTuber also claims that the upcoming Galaxy M40 will likely be driven by a mid-range Snapdragon 675 SoC, paired with an Adreno 612 GPU. Unfortunately, these are all details given by the source. However, the handset was previously listed on Geekbench, packing a mid-range Snapdragon 675 SoC paired with 6GB RAM + 128GB storage. It was also listed with One UI that is based on Android 9.0 Pie.
As for the price, the Galaxy M40 is said on the hands-on video to come with a price tag of around Rs. 20,000. However, a different report by IANS suggested that the phone might be priced at around Rs. 25,000. Therefore, you should take this news with a grain of salt and wait for the event on 11 June to find out the exact price tag. To recall, its sibling Galaxy M30 was launched earlier in the year with an Infinity-U FHD+ display and a triple camera setup. It’s currently priced at Rs. 14,990 for the variant with 4GB of RAM and Rs. 17,990 for 6GB RAM variant.
