Yesterday, @Slashleaks posted an image with the title "HUAWEI P40 PRO GLASS DESIGN OUT". As you can see, the protective accessories for the front of the upcoming P series flagship won't have any hole or cut-out. This proves that the Huawei P40 Pro will no longer use the notch design like the P30 series. Instead, the phone could be equipped with a punch-hole display like the Nova 6 series or even a pop-up selfie camera. However, the second case is very unlikely because most of the leak reports are in favor of the hole-punch design.
Earlier, Huawei's CEO had confirmed that the brand would introduce Huawei P40 and P40 Pro by the end of March 2020 in Paris, France. Some recent images also show that Huawei's new high-end phone series will have a large rectangular camera cluster on the back.
The Huawei P40 Pro is expected to feature a screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, Quad-HD + resolution, and a 98% screen-to-body ratio. Previous leaks have confirmed the P40 Pro will come with a large 5,500mAh battery with support for 50W fast charging. The phone will also have a new Kirin 990 chip with an integrated 5G modem. Software-wise, the handset should arrive with Android 10-based EMUI 11. However, there will be likely no Google Services like Google Maps, Gmail, and more available on the phones.
For photography, recent renders show that the P40 Pro will feature a rectangle-shaped camera module, which suggests that the handset could carry at least four to five rear cameras. The camera setup could include a 64MP Sony IMX686 main sensor, a 12MP periscope telephoto lens, a 20MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a macro camera, and a ToF sensor. In addition, instead of supporting 5x optical zoom like the P30 Pro, the P40 Pro’s camera will be able to support up to 10x optical zoom. The Huawei P40 price is still unknown at the moment, but it should be still in the same range as the Huawei P30 Pro price, which was Rs. 71,900.
