Entry-Level OPPO A12 Announced For A Starting Price Of Around Rs. 12,000

After a couple of leaks, OPPO has released a new budget smartphone called OPPO A12 in Indonesia. The handset comes with a waterdrop notch screen, dual rear cameras, and an Helio P35 chipset. It is also packed with a decently-large 4,230mAh battery and a fingerprint reader mounted at a textured polycarbonate back panel.

OPPO A12: Price & Availability

The OPPO A12 price is 24,99,000 IDR in Indonesia for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant, which is equivalent to around Rs. 12,200 in Indian currency. For now, the brand hasn’t mentioned about its plan to release the phone in other markets. 

At the moment, the phone is available in two color options, Black and Blue.

OPPO A12: Specifications & Features

Being a budget smartphone, the device is equipped with an Helio P35 octa-core chipset, aided by 3 / 4GB of RAM and 32 / 64GB of storage. You can also use a microSD card to expand its storage. On the front, it is wrapped by a 6.22-inch LCD display that supports HD+ (1,520 x 720p) resolution, a 19:9 aspect ratio, and a layer of Gorilla Glass 3. On top of the screen, there is a water-drop notch that houses a 5MP camera for selfies and video chats. 

Moving to the rear, you can find a dual-camera lens cluster, including a 13MP main sensor and a 2MP portrait camera. The two sensors are placed next to an LED flash and above a fingerprint sensor, which can be used for biometric authentication. Under the hood, it gets power from a 4,230mAh battery cell, which can be charged over a micro-USB port. In terms of software, Oppo offers Android 9.0 Pie on the phone with its ColorOS 6.1.2 running on top.
