The Coolpad Cool 5 is the latest smartphone in China-based company Coolpad in India. The phone arrives as a direct successor to the Cool 3 Plus, which launched earlier in the year. The Coolpad Cool 5 is positioned in the budget segment with a large battery, octa-core processor, dual rear camera setup, a rear fingerprint reader, and a dewdrop notched display. The handset is expected to take on the Redmi 8A, Realme 5, and Vivo U10.

Coolpad Cool 5: Price
The Coolpad Cool 5 is retailed at Rs. 7,999 in India in two hues - Midnight Blue and Gradient Blue. It is already up for sale via Amazon India with launch offers like no-cost EMI, 10 percent discount with Debit and Credit cards of SBI, and up to Rs. 7,500 off on exchange.
Coolpad Cool 5: Specifications
The Coolpad Cool 5 is equipped with a 6.2-inch HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 19:9 and a water-drop notch at the top for the selfie camera. It uses an Helio P22 SoC under the hood with up to 2GHz clock speed. Its memory configuration is 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage that can be expanded via a microSD card slot up to 128GB. Software-wise, it comes preloaded with Android 9.0 Pie at launch and a 4,000 mAh battery that is claimed to deliver up to 18 hours on one charge. Its back panel is mounted with a fingerprint scanner, that allows users to unlock the phone with biometric authentication.

In terms of camera, the Cool 5 sports dual rear cameras, which are a 13MP main sensor and a 2MP depth-sensing camera. On the front, there is a 16MP camera for users to take selfies and video calling. Connectivity options include USB-C port, Wi-Fi, GPS, a headphone jack, Bluetooth, and FM radio.
