At the CES 2020 event, TCL unveiled a wide range of smartphones, including budget Alcatel phones and a bunch of TCL 10 smartphones. The latter includes TLC 10L, TCL 10 Pro, and TCL 10 5G. They are slated to hit the global market later this year and will be up for sale in North America in the second quarter of this year.
Displays on all of these phones are made by the company’s display division called TCL CSOT. They are also equipped with the brand’s NXTVISION display optimization tech. The TCL 10 Pro is the only phone to feature an edge AMOLED display, while the other two come with flat screens.
TCL 10L
The 10L is the base model of the series. It comes with a quad-camera lens setup at the back with a 48MP primary sensor. On the front, there is a punch-hole screen to house a selfie camera. Around the back, it features a fingerprint reader and a diagonal reflective glass design.
TCL 10 5G
10 5G is the first 5G-enabled smartphone from the company and it will be driven by a new Qualcomm’s chipset in the Snapdragon 700-series (most likely the Snapdragon 765G SoC). It has a large punch-hole display with a small cut-out to house a selfie camera. On the rear, it also gets a reflective glass back and a fingerprint reader. In addition, there are also a quad-rear camera cluster and dual-LED flash modules. From the renders, we can see that the main sensor of the rear camera setup will have 64MP resolution.
TCL 10 Pro
The 10 Pro has a similar design to the 10 5G, but it uses a different display panel. As mentioned, it is the only phone to come with an edge AMOLED panel and also the only one with a water-drop notch on the front. In addition, its rear panel has a similar gradient effect to the OnePlus 7 Pro, instead of a reflective holographic design like its siblings.
For photography, it also rocks a quad-camera cluster at the back with a 64MP main sensor. Finally, it is equipped with an under-display fingerprint reader instead of a rear-mounted one like the other two models.
For now, the brand doesn’t reveal the whole specs of the three new smartphones. However, it is expected to fully announce the lineup in the MWC 2020 in Barcelona in late February.
Not only TCL, many other companies, including Google, made several announcements at CES 2020.
