While the launch date of the gaming-centric Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Pro has already been revealed, we haven’t got much about its specs. The handset was previously rumored to pack a Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC, but that is it. There is a good possibility that the rest of the specs will be just the same as its predecessor Black Shark 2. Now, a Black Shark phone has passed through Geekbench with model number Black Shark DLT-A0 and some of its details.

The Geekbench listing for the mysterious Black Shark phone shows that the handset will pack 12GB RAM and run Android 9 Pie. It is also listed to feature an octa-core processor with the ‘msmnile’ code name, which belongs to both of the Snapdragon 855 and the recently-launched Snapdragon 855 Plus. And these are all the details revealed from the listing. Since it is slated to make its debut on 30 July, we expect more details to pop up very soon.

The Black Shark smartphone achieved scores of 3,632 and 11,304 in the single and multi-core tests, respectively. Apart from slightly better performance, the brand might also go for some minor upgrades on the handset. In addition, we expect it to come with a similar dual camera setup at the back and possibly a 90 Hz display.
If this news is to be believed, the Black Shark 2 Pro might be the second phone in the world to come with the Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC. The first one is the Asus ROG Phone 2, which is slated to launch on 23 July. Aside from these two phones, the gaming-centric Nubia Red Magic 3 is also expected to feature the latest Qualcomm chipset as well. Even the former Oppo’s sub-brand Realme recently teased a new phone with the same processor. To recall, the Snapdragon 855 Plus is an overclocked Snapdragon 855 SoC, that provides around 4.2% performance boost in the performance aspect and 15 percent in the gaming performance.
