Recently, many reports also suggest that the latest Qualcomm chipset would feature in a Black Shark phone. To recall, the Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC is launched as a slight upgrade over the Snapdragon 855 chipset, and it is said to deliver 15% better graphics performance over its sibling. The Black Shark 2 Pro will also launch as an upgraded model of the Black Shark 2 that made its debut in the country last month.
The official video teaser was shared on Weibo, and it gave us a glimpse of the Black Shark 2 Pro on the front. However, as mentioned, the video did confirm that the upcoming gaming-centric smartphone will feature the latest and most powerful from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 855 Plus, that made its debut earlier in the month.
The new chipset is claimed to offer a 15% boost in the graphics performance over its predecessor Snapdragon 855. It is also coupled with an upgraded model of the Adreno 640 GPU. In addition, it also comes with the Kryo 485 CPU that is clocked at 2.96 GHz to deliver slightly better processing power compared to the 855. Aside from the 855 Plus, the upcoming Black Shark 2 Pro was also spotted on the company's online store with Liquid Cooling 3.0+ tech and DC Dimming 2.0.
Moreover, the handset recently passed through benchmarking platform ANTuTu with 12GB RAM / 256GB storage. An alleged photo of the Black Shark 2 Pro also surfaced online and showed that it would come with a similar rear panel to the Black Shark 2.
The official launch date of the Black Shark 2 Pro is 30 July. It will most likely compete against the ASUS ROG Phone II that was recently announced as the world's first smartphone feature the Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset.
