Asus just confirmed the launch date of the Asus 6Z in India to be 19 June. It is the rebranded model of the newly-launched ZenFone 6, which is the first phone in the world to come with a flip camera setup that can work on both front and back. The reason why Asus has to drop the ZenFone moniker is that it is currently in the trademark battle with another company called Zen Mobile. The Taiwan-based phone maker has been restricted from selling phones with the ZenFone brand by the Delhi High Court.
Asus 6Z: Expected price
The Asus ZenFone 6, which will be launched as Asus 6Z in the Indian market, will be set to go against the OnePlus 7 and Redmi K20 Pro. With that, Asus should apply much more aggressive pricing for the Asus 6Z in India compared to its €499 (around Rs. 39,300) price tag in Europe. To recall, its predecessor ZenFone 5Z came with a price tag of £500 (around Rs. 44,200) in the UK while its Indian price was set at only Rs. 29,999. The phone was previously confirmed to be on sale in India via Flipkart.
Asus 6Z: Specifications & Features
The handset sports a 6.4-inch FHD+ NanoEdge panel with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and a layer of Gorilla Glass 6. Powering the phone is a Snapdragon 855 octa-core processor, paired with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 1TB using a microSD card slot. It is fueled by a monstrous 5,000 mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging solution. In terms of software, it ships with ZenUI that is based on Android 9.0 Pie.
In the camera department, it comes with a dual flippable camera setup that is designed to work on both the front and back. The setup comprises of a 48MP sensor and a 13MP 125-degree wide-angle camera with an f/2.4 aperture. Asus also equips it with Super Night mode that the company touted to improve the phone’s capability in taking low-light pictures which works similar to the Night Sight mode developed by Google.
