ASUS 6Z With Flip Camera & Snapdragon 855 SoC Launched in India

After launching the Asus ZenFone 6 last month, the Taiwan-based phone maker Asus finally brings the phone to India under the name “Asus 6Z”. It is the world's first phone to come with a flip camera setup that can work as both selfie and rear cameras. The highlights of the phone include an all-screen display, a powerful Snapdragon 855 octa-core processor, and a massive 5,000 mAh battery. In addition, the phone is launched under a different name in India because of a trademark infringement issue with a local company named Zen Mobile.
ASUS 6Z: Availability & Price
The phone is set to go on sale in the country exclusively via Flipkart on 26 June. The base option of the phone with 6GB of RAM + 64GB of storage is retailed at Rs. 31,999. It is also available in two more variants with 6GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage. Those two options are available for Rs. 34,999 and Rs. 39,999m respectively.
ASUS 6Z: Specifications & Features
The handset sports a 6.4-inch FHD+ IPS panel with a 92 percent screen-to-body ratio and a layer of Gorilla Glass 6. Powering the phone is a powerful Snapdragon 855 SoC, paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. In terms of software, it ships with the company’s ZenUI v6.0 at launch which is based on Android 9 Pie.
For security, it features a fingerprint scanner mounted on the rear. For better media experience, it is equipped with dual 5-magnet speakers and dual NXP TFA9874 smart amplifiers, dual microphones with Asus Noise Reduction Tech and DTS:X ultra1.0.
In terms of camera, the handset sports a dual camera setup, including a 48MP main shooter with f/1.8 aperture, PDAF. The main camera is accompanied by a 13MP snapper with f/2.4 aperture. This dual camera setup can flip and work as both selfie and rear cameras. Asus claims that it already tested the ZenFone 6Z’s flip camera to be able to maintain perfect condition after taking 70 selfies per day for two years. The phone can record video at 4K resolution and 30/60 fps with EIS. In addition, its cameras are rated as the best for delivering selfie photos by DxOMark with a score of 98 points. Lastly, the entire setup is fueled by a massive 5,000 mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging.
