Apple has been focusing on photography so offering more storage for photos and videos is an understandable move

As stated by Jon Prosser, an Apple leaker, the iPhone maker could double the amount of storage on its flagship iPhones with the introduction of its first 1TB smartphone.

So far, the maximum storage of an iPhone is 512GB. It has been so for the last three years and was first introduced with iPhone XS and XS Max.

In 2020, iPhone 12 Pro’s base model has 128GB of onboard storage, double the amount its predecessor iPhone 11 Pro has.

Prosser’s post on Twitter doesn’t give much information but since he has a high reliability rating of 85.5% with 124 rumors, we have reason to believe there are grounds for optimism.

If this claim holds true, we will have to wait until next year for the release of the iPhone 13. Even if so, Apple isn’t the first company to offer 1TB of storage.

Apple has been focusing on photography so offering more storage is an understandable move. While cloud storage is becoming more common, many users still want local storage to have quick access to their photos and videos. Plus, not everyone is willing to pay for iCloud.
