Apple Might Raise iPhone 12 Price Despite Ditching Charger & EarPods

Recently, there have been many reports that Apple will stop offering EarPods and charger the upcoming iPhone 12 series. This information has surprised many tech fans and triggered many debates.

Many opinions agree that Apple cuts the EarPods and chargers to keep the price of the iPhone 12 at the same level as the previous iPhone generations. However, another analyst seemed to disagree with that and confirmed that even if the charger and earbuds are not included, the upcoming iPhone series will still cost slightly more expensive than the previous iPhone 11 series.

Jeff Pu, who provided the information, said that the iPhone 12 price will start at $749 (around Rs. 56,000) for the 5.4-inch version, which is $50 (Rs. 3,800) higher than the iPhone 11 - which, at the time of launch, had a retail price of $699 (around Rs. 52,400).

According to Jeff, the main reason for the price increase of the iPhone 12 is that Apple will equip OLED screens for all models in this year's lineup, as well as add a 5G modem on all of them. For comparison, last year's iPhone 11 was equipped with an LCD screen, while the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max had a more expensive OLED screen.

Obviously, the fact that Apple stopped bundling the charger inside the box of its next iPhone series will certainly create controversy, perhaps similar to what happened when the company decided to remove the headphone jack on the iPhone 6s.

Despite this, Jeff Pu still believes that even if Apple does not include a charger and raises the price of the upcoming lineup, consumers will still accept this and it will not affect the market demand.

Apple is expected to introduce four iPhone models later this year, including a 5.4-inch iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Max, and 12 Pro with a 6.1-inch display, as well as a 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max.

All four phones will support the 5G network and will be powered by Apple's latest A14 chipsets. However, the cheaper iPhone 12 and 12 Max will only have a dual-camera setup on the back, while the two high-end models, 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max, will both have a LiDAR sensor just like the iPad Pro 2020 launched earlier this year.
