It seems like Oppo is set to unveil a new smartphone in its newly-announced sub-brand Reno. There have been quite a few designs from different phones makers to get rid of the notch and the selfie camera to get the full-screen design. However, this new design from Oppo shown in a recent leak is something we have never ever seen before. Only a couple of days before the phone’s official release date, a new Reno handset, tipped to be the Oppo Reno, was just spotted on TENAA.
While the listing on TENAA is included with the phone’s photos, we can’t see the design that we have seen on previously leaked video. However, the listing did reveal quite a few specifications of the handset. Listed with model number PCAM00 / PCAT00, the phone is listed to sport a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with 1,080 x 2,340p resolution and it measures 156.6x74.3x9mm as well as weigh 185g.
Furthermore, it will be powered by an octa-core SoC clocked at 2.2GHz which is suggested to be the Snapdragon 710 SoC. As for the memory configurations, it will come in two options, including 6GB of RAM/128GB of storage model and 8GB of RAM/256GB of storage. According to the photos on TENAA, it will feature a dual rear camera setup, including a 48MP primary sensor and a 5MP secondary sensor. Meanwhile, there will be a 16MP unusually shaped pop-up selfie camera on the front. In terms of software, the phone will run Oppo’s ColorOS 6 at launch which is based on the latest Android 9.0 Pie and be backed by a decent 3.680mAh cell with Oppo’s VOOC 3.0 fast charging tech support.
The Chinese company is set to introduce its new Reno series at a launch event in April. Besides this one, another Reno phone with a Snapdragon 855 SoC is expected to show up at the event.
