After its first launch at the MWC 2019 event earlier this year, the Huawei Mate X foldable smartphone launch date has been repeatedly delayed. It was delayed until Huawei officially launched the handset its home market China, with a price of CNY 16,999 (around Rs. 1,73,400).

But recently, a Huawei Mate X with a serious faulty screen was shared on Chinese social networking site Weibo. Currently, it is not possible to determine the cause of the Mate X's folding screen leading to such severe damage. It is unclear whether it was a user error or a design or production issue by Huawei.
The Huawei Mate X also has a unique foldable screen design similar to Samsung's Galaxy Fold. However, it’s foldable screen is exposed, so it is easy to be damaged by collisions with other hard objects. Therefore, dropping this smartphone could be a disaster.
Samsung had previously had major problems with the Galaxy Fold's screen design, which it later had to overcome by switching to a new design.
