Acer Unveils New Chromebooks And TravelMate P6

New TravelMate P6 and two Chromebook laptops made their debut with the latest NVIDIA GeForce and Intel chipset.

Acer unveiled several new devices at its event in New York, which include two Chromebook laptops and a TravelMate P6 notebook. While the Chromebook runs Chrome operating system and comes with aluminium chassis, the TravelMate P6 laptop is light and thin, which runs the Windows 10 Pro.

Acer Travel Mate P614-51 will go on sales from June 2019 with the starting price of US$1,149

The TravelMate P614-51 has a magnesium alloy and aluminium body built. The device is thin with the greatest thickness of only 16.6mm and weight of only 1.1 kg. It can offer a 20-hour battery life on only one charge and only take 45 minutes to have a 50% charge, as per the company. It is known that the device comes with Windows 10 Pro at launch, NVIDIA GeForce GTX, and the eighth-gen Core i7 chipset from Intel.

Also, the new TravelMate P6 laptop is equipped with a 180-degree durable hinge and up to 1TB Gen3 PCIe SSD storage, allowing users to put the laptop flat on a surface. The laptop sports a 14-inch IPS screen with Full HD resolution with 170-degree viewing angle. In addition, it has a full-sized backlit keyboard. Its touchpad is covered with a protective layer – Gorilla Glass. Besides, the laptop has 4 microphones for high-quality audio. Additionally, the TravelMate P614-51 has some connectivity options including 4G LTE eSIM, NFC, smart card port, microSD reader, USB 3.1-C port, and Thunderbolt 3 port.

It is known that the Travel Mate P614-51 will be available for sales from June 2019 with the starting price of $1,149. Acer will bring this device to the European and North American markets. In the Chinese market, it will cost CNY9,999 and go on sales at the beginning of May.

Along with the TravelMate P6 laptop and others, the company also unveiled 2 new Chromebook laptops including the Chromebook 715 and Chromebook 714. Both devices come with military grade cover and aluminium chassis.

The latter sports a 14-inch screen with Full HD resolution with thin bezels. It also has both non-touchscreen and touchscreen displays. Under the hood, the Chromebook 714 is powered by the Pentium Gold or Intel Celeron or eighth-gen Intel Core i5 chipsets. Additionally, it features a built-in fingerprint reader put near the keyboard. Acer also protects the device’s touchpad by Gorilla Glass protective layer. It is known that these two new models have many same features.

On the other hand, the former sports a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS screen and also have both non-touchscreen and touchscreen displays. Unlike the Chromebook 714, the Chromebook 715 has a full-size keyboard with backlit keys. The device is also available in three chipset options including Intel Celeron, Pentium Gold, and eighth-gen Intel Core i5 chipsets. These chipsets of this laptop come with up to 16GB DDR4 SD RAM and 128GB eMMC internal storage. The above options are available on this new Chromebook 714 laptop as well.

Both models in the Chromebook series run Chrome operating system and offer an up to 12-hour battery life. They have some connectivity options such as microSD reader, USB 3.0, two USB 3.1-C ports, Bluetooth 4.2, and dual-band Wireless AC 802.11 ac/b/g/n 2x2 Wifi. And because these devices run the Chrome operating system, users can use all applications on the Play Store.

Furthermore, the company plans to sell the Chromebook 714 and the Chromebook 715 in the North American market in July and in the European market in June. As for the Chrome 715, it will be sold for EUR599 in Europe and US$499 in the U.S. The rest one will cost EUR549 in the European market and US$499 in the U.S.­
