According to the revelation from many sources, the Indian restaurant search platform Zomato has recently bought the food donation startup Feeding India. With the acquisition, Zomato hopes to enhance its ability to serve underprivileged people significantly. The number may increase to 100 million or more per month.
The company plans to finance the whole salaries for its team as well as some important initiatives. One of the sponsored contents is funding the development of an app called ‘Feedi.ng’. This app is created as a bridge to connect volunteers and donors.
In addition to Feeding India, the company has been in partnership with many other organizations including Akshaya Patra Foundation and Robin Hoob Army. Zomato has made a lot of efforts to determine the real reasons behind the severity of food wastage in many areas in India such as hostels, houses, restaurants, events, or weddings.
