Xiaomi is about to have 10,000 retail stores in India.

Xiaomi now is considered as the phone brand going ahead of others in India, after beating Samsung in the smartphone market. Thanks to a couple of consecutive quarters standing as No.1 player, the Chinese giant has planned to achieve a more ambitious goal – owning an enormous number of retail stores, which is likely to be 10,000 units within the year of 2019.

At the very first stage in India, Xiaomi had only distributed its products through online channels and made its debut in offline service just two years ago. According to a speech made by Indian branch director Manu Kumar Jain, the growth in the online market is going to the threshold, so its focus right now is to make more expansion by the traditional retail channels in a big way.

It’s also further noted that Xiaomi is expecting to make the percentage of offline channels in gross smartphone sales up to 50%. Prior to this, Xiaomi India said it did generate employment for over 2,000 people with the opening of 1,000 Mi Stores spread across 19 states in the country.
