As technology advances, more efficient power supply adapters replace proprietary counterparts. Currently, USB-C sits at the very top of battery charger adapters and devices. This technological provision has addressed users’ problems with charging their electronic devices, especially in public places. With this problem out of the way, smartphone users can perform various activities on their gadgets without having to worry about running out of power, including those that require significant battery consumption, like online casino games – some of which are available on this site.
Gone are the days when phone and PC users had to focus on having the right power supply. Presently, having the correct power cable is of utmost priority – thanks to one of the unique features that come with USB-C technology: USB power delivery. It is worth noting that USB cables, connectors, and chargers have different capacities, with some being more efficient than others.
USB Specifications
While discussing USB in its entirety, it is essential to look at the specifications this technology offers. As at this documentation, there are six grades, namely:
- USB 1.0
- USB 2.0
- USB 3.0
- USB 3.1
- USB 3.2
- USB 4
What is the Likelihood of Blowing Up My Device with USB Technology?
USB ports have charging power rates that range from 500mA to 3,000mA, depending on the device and adapter. Many users have worries about connecting a wall charger of different power to their electronic device and seeing it explode into tiny bits. The truth is that such a likelihood is slim or even non-existent. For example, you can connect a 2,100mA retina Ipad mini charger to an iPhone with the latter exploding. On the contrary, such a charger should be able to speed up charging time on your device. A lot of tech gurus have done this several times without experiencing any problem. Hence, you are fine as well. Nonetheless, it is ideal for you to charge your phone and other gadgets with the right adapter and cable.

Some of the factors you have to consider when dealing with USB include the following:
- The age of your electronic gadget influences the charging and transfer speed of power and data, respectively. Older devices with lower technology tend to boost up or transmit data slower than their latest counterparts.
- Find out if a wall charger supports your electronic device. Using this adapter can boost your phone faster by releasing more amps via the device USB ports. It is worth noting that the USB Implementers Forum created a specification guide detailing various battery charging technologies to improve charging speeds and time, which later found its way into USB devices, including phones, tablets, and currently, PCs.
How About USB-C Technology?
USB-C is a type of connector system that features 24 pins that aid the transmission of power and data through the cable. Manufactured by the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF), this industry-standard symmetrical adapter can be plugged with either side and power up devices and transfer data faster. The tendency of blowing up your phone, tablet, Sony PlayStation Pocket (PSP), and even other devices when you plug in the wrong charger is next to zero. However, it is a different ball game entirely if you plug in an incompatible USB-C cable, as your device may likely explode. Unfortunately, you cannot simply tell if a USB-C cord is compatible with your gadgets. Hence, it is essential to get your cables from an authorized dealer or an original equipment manufacturer (OEM).
Even if your device does not explode, you may experience slow charging speeds or data transfer – a good, but not perfect scenario. You will not get the best experience, but your device would be intact at the same time.
