According to a statement from Uber, the program will help attract new customers, reward present ones and enhance customer service.

Now, businesses don’t have to hire shuttles for customers to go to and from their events anymore, they can even gift loyal customers with free rides, by simply using the new Vouchers program from Uber.

On Tuesday, the company announced that it will allow companies to pay for their customers’ bulk ride-sharing trips. According to a statement, the program will help attract new customers, reward present ones and enhance customer service.

In the past year, the company has tested its Vouchers program with several companies. For example, high-end malls can provide customers with free Uber rides. Meanwhile, TGI Fridays restaurant chain can use Vouchers to offer customers with free rides, helping them increase business in slow sales periods as well as helping customer go home safe and sound even when they're drunk. As per the Golden State Warriors, the company said that the team could offer rides to and from games along with loyalty programs or ticket sales.

In the Vouchers program, businesses can choose specific locations and times to apply for the promotion, they can also limit pickup and drop-off locations, as well as how much they pay for the ride. On the other hand, customers supported in this program just receive the voucher either in their Uber app or via email. Uber rolled out the Vouchers program to most of its market on April 9.

Waymo shares the same idea with Uber to create a business subsidizing transportation service to a particular destination. The company may deploy this service to its autonomous cars. In October 2018, John Krafcik, Waymo CEO, said that:

He considers this as an interesting future that Waymo can apply for its business.
