New Apple Product Will Save You From Losing Your Stuff

Apple is reportedly developing a smart tracking tag to help you find your lost items more easily. The information came out on Friday.

Apple is reportedly developing a smart tracking tag to compete with SmartThings tracker from Samsung and Tile. Users of Apple’s tracker will be able to attach it to objects such as keys, bags, and wallets. The information came from MacRumors on Friday after it saw in internal build in iOS 13. The tracker is likely to have a small size and rounded shape, featuring the company’s logo in its center, according to MacRumors.

The giant tech firm plans to unveil its iPhone 11 at 10 AM PT, September 10, at the Steve Jobs Theater, Cupertino, California. It remains unclear what other products it will unveil at this event, but rumors say that announcements will include a new Apple Watch.

The information about Apple’s new smart tracker first surfaced back in April, reported by 9to5Mac. And now, according to MacRumors, the product’s codename has been confirmed to be B389.

In addition, the site said that the tags will have a role in the Find My app of Apple, with a new tab dubbed “items.”

When users are not with their tagged objects, they will receive a notification if users don’t set the items as in a “safe location,” said the report. Users can make the tags chime simply with a tap of a button or they can put the object in lost mode so that other iPhone users can call or text in case they find it, said MacRumors.

People can also find their things more easily using AR, for example, a red AR balloon floats over the location of the lost object in the interface of the app, as described in the report. According to an internal coder of Find My app:
