From now on, Microsoft Translator will add five Indian languages to its real-time translation library, according to information confirmed by Microsoft India. These include Punjabi, Marathi, Gujarati, Malayalam, and Kannada.
These new options have made the total number of Microsoft Translator-based Indian languages grow up to 10. As you might not know, this software has already offered Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Bengali, and Urdu.
The company claimed in a press release that this new package will enable users living in India to access information with ease when working as all they need to do is to choose their own preferred language to achieve a higher level of productivity.
For over two decades, Microsoft has aimed to support Indian languages since the launch of Project Bhasha in 1998.
Microsoft is focusing on a bunch of real-time translation services and products as one of its core businesses in the future. The tech giant has worked on AI technology and Deep Neural Networks to apply to not only Translator but also other products like Bing.
The Microsoft Translator service is part of the Azure Cognitive Services API collection of machine learning and AI algorithms.
The Translator app is also made available to smartphone devices. It’s capable of identifying texts in different kinds of content such as dialogues or even photos then translate them in a matter of seconds. As per the company, its Office 365 service will soon come packed with this feature in the short run.
