To get a patent from the License On Transfer Network, each of these startups will have to satisfy the monthly Azure bill for at least $1,000.

Microsoft has just decided to expand its programme called “Azure IP Advantage” by donating a half million of patents to a series of startups that belongs to the LOT (License On Transfer) Network, a nonprofit organization.

The “Azure IP Advantage” has begun operating since 2018 to bring solutions to protect those who are using cloud computing service of Microsoft from patent trolls.

According to the programme’s development orientation, the License On Transfer Network helps companies to fight against these patent trolls by allowing them to approach the massive amount of patents that originate from about 400 companies as its members such as Facebook, Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Uber, Netflix, and many other companies.

To get a patent from the License On Transfer Network, each of these startups will have to satisfy the monthly Azure bill for at least $1,000. Microsoft is the one to have the responsibility for checking their Azure bills in the latest three months.

From the available huge library, the startup members can access three patents as granted by the LOT network.
