In the coming days, Reliance Jio will launch the Jio Wi-Fi Calling service all around the country, which will let all users access voice calls over Wi-Fi. As claimed by Reliance Jio, the service is now available for more than 150 smartphone models.

With the arrival of the Jio Wi-Fi Calling service, Indian users will have the ability to make both voice calls and video calls via Wi-Fi networks. In comparison with Airtel’s similar service, VoWiFi allows users to take advantage of every Wi-Fi network, instead of using only the XStream Fiber broadband of Airtel.
How To Enable Jio Wi-Fi Calling?
As we said above, Jio customers need to have a compatible device before making any Wi-Fi call via this service. For those who are not really aware of how to get started with it, here’re a step-by-step instruction for you:
- Step 1: Go to the “Settings” menu on your smartphone.
- Step 2: Navigate to “Connections” settings.
- Step 3: Find the Wi-Fi calling, and then all you need to do is to turn it on.
- Step 4: If successful, you can make calls normally and easily as you often do, but via a Wi-Fi connection, rather than a cellular network.

Making calls via Wi-Fi won’t charge you any additional fees because those calls are considered regular voice calls and data consumed for a call will come from your Wi-Fi network. As per the company, every minute of the call will consume half MB.
Once you’ve turned it on, Wi-Fi and cellular network will automatically switch between each other to make the call, depending on their connectivity at the time. As a result, you should keep both Wi-Fi and VoLTE connection for a better experience when making a call.
