iPhone 12 Could Make 2020 A Major Year For Apple

To make the iPhone 12 the savior Apple desperately needs now, the company has to deal with another obstacle, the Coronavirus

iPhone 12 is projected to be a highly-demanded smartphone for Apple. And the company also has big plans for it. So here is what analysts thought about Apple’s next big device and the challenges the company may face.

The iPhone 12 Will Be Big

In the last two years, Apple has introduced no novel changes to its iPhones ever since the iPhone X is launched. We did see improvements in battery life, cameras, and processor, but Apple fans expect more than that. As people tend to hold on to old devices longer, the iPhone maker has seen a slow sales in the last couple of years.

The situation may change when the iPhone 12 debuts. Rumor has it that the handset will have a flat edge, just like what we see on the new iPads, along with more sizing choices.

Some said that the iPhone 12 Pro Max will feature a 6.7-inch screen but other variants can have a smaller size, decrease from 5.8 inches to 5.4 inches. There will be no change to the 6.1-inch option but the display might be upgraded. It is believed that all iPhone 12 variants would have 5G and OLED display.

These upgrades mean a big year for Apple to break a cycle of mediocre sales and take back its former glory.

To make the iPhone 12 the savior Apple desperately needs now, the company has to deal with another obstacle, the Coronavirus.

Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, said in the annual shareholder meeting that the iPhone maker may not meet the revenue target of Q2. The COVID-19 outbreak has hit Apple hard with its production line in China.

Last month, Cook said that the company was devising mitigation plans to make up the loss of production. However, for now, we do not know how September’s inventory will be affected.

Apple’s manufacturers in China are limiting their capacity or even shut down completely for fear of COVID-19.

Apple May Eliminate The Lightning Port

iPads released in 2018 featured USB-C so users have reason to believe that upcoming iPhones will follow this trend. While we have no solid evidence proving this claim, many speculate that 2020’s iPhones will have no port at all.

With the iOS 13.4, we have heard of the term “over the air” mode for iPhone. This can be a big hit for Apple as for now, the only method users can apply to recover their data on iPhones is by iTunes on a PC. The process includes plugging the phone to a computer via a Lightning to USB cable. With OTA, all of the cumbersomeness will be eliminated.

This does not suggest that iPhone 12 will have no Light port at all, but it gives us a general idea of where Apple is heading with iPhones. What we can do now is wait and see when Apple decides that it is time to remove all the ports on its devices.

Apple Issues New Warning Affecting Millions Of iPhone Users

Apple has already had its hands full with iPhone 12 but now it has to deal with yet another problem. Tim Cook has issued a warning to the company’s shareholders and now it has to make another to its users all over the world.

Apple has sent a memo to its staff at Apple Stores worldwide about a stock shortage of replacements for iPhones, an impact that will affect any iOS users that accidentally break their devices.
