The feature for group planning of Google Maps, that was first announced at the Google I/O in May 2018 is now finally rolled out. This feature let users create a poll consisting of several places they want like restaurants and send to their friends so they can vote on where to go. This new update would cease long conversations and messages among friends just to decide where to go.
You can create a poll by long-pressing a place and drag it into a list that you can later share with people you want to invite. The group of people you send the poll to will see locations of the places in their browser or app and they can vote by clicking on a thumbs-down or thumbs-up. Group members can also veto the places by removing them from the list and put any place they want to that list.

The shortlist that has been chosen can be shared through many apps such as WhatsApp, Google Drive, Facebook Messenger, or users can create an external link to share.
This new feature was only one out of many new features that Google has announced for its famous Google Maps. The other features have already been released which include the ‘For You’ tab. The feature will give you some recommendations of businesses and places in your location based on your personal preferences, which is mostly designed to help you pick between multiple places. Google is also developing an augmented reality feature for Google Maps that enables you to see AR overlay with specific directions for you to go and accurate information on what is around you
The update is available from September 27 for both Android and iOS devices.
